The Blankenship Stables Gang
Most Unique Dismount
Prestigious Traveling Trophy Award
Throughout 2008, we all witnessed several impressive forms of "dismounting" while on one of our trail rides, during a show or even practicing in the arena.  A few that come to mind are Jeff and Bud's dualing dimounts in the pasture, Cathy's flyby around the bend dismount, Gary's hidden dismount that left him on foot, Tori's slow-roll, horse on side dismount and Kim's very graceful dismount off of a 2 yr old that was heading towards the slough.

This year an award has been created to recognize such impressive dismounts (voluntary and not!).  It is a traveling award that will be handed over from it's current holder when another rider shows off with such a unique dismount.
The first recipiant of the 2009 Traveling Trophy Award is Meredith riding Bailey.
During our Bring In The New Year Ride at the Alafia State Park, Meredith wowed us with her ability to dismount while cantering through the rolling hills and land neatly seated with crossed legs.
What also impressed us was how easliy she re-mounted the 16 hand Bailey without missing a beat.
Bravo!
